LobbyFi Pills System
The LobbyFi Pills System (also known as the points system) is designed to quantify user engagement and provide a foundation for rewarding active and aligned members of the LobbyFi community in the future. This system uses two types of points: Blue Pills and Red Pills. Understanding how to earn and utilise these pills is key to maximising your participation in LobbyFi. You may always check the leaderboard here and your personal pills balance here.
🟦 Blue Pills: Acquiring Voting Power
Blue Pills represent voting power and are earned by contributing ETH to proposals, either through instant buys or participation in LobbyFi's community auctions. For every 0.001 ETH spent, a user earns 1 Blue Pill.
Here are some examples:
Direct Purchase: If you buy voting power for a proposal with 1 ETH, you will earn 1000 Blue Pills.
Auction Bidding: If you bid 0.01 ETH in an auction, you will earn 10 Blue Pills.
Multiple Bidders: If Alice bids 0.1 ETH and Bob bids 0.05 ETH on a proposal (regardless of the specific option or outcome), Alice will earn 100 Blue Pills, and Bob will earn 50 Blue Pills.
🟥 Red Pills: Rewarding Delegating Voting Power
Red Pills are earned by delegating your voting power to LobbyFi. When a proposal is successfully funded (i.e., voting power is purchased), the ETH spent is used to distribute Red Pills among users who have delegated their voting power. The distribution is proportional to the amount of voting power each user has delegated.
Here's an example:
Proposal Funding & Red Pill Distribution: Let's say a proposal is funded with 1 ETH, and 10,000 ARB of voting power has been delegated to LobbyFi. This means 1000 Red Pills (calculated as 1 ETH divided by 0.001 pills per 1/1000th of ETH) will be distributed. If Alice delegated 8,000 ARB, Bob delegated 1,500 ARB, and Charlie delegated 500 ARB, the Red Pill distribution would be:
Alice: 800 Red Pills
Bob: 150 Red Pills
Charlie: 50 Red Pills
Why it Matters
The LobbyFi Pills System encourages active participation in governance by incentivising both the purchase of voting power (Blue Pills) and the delegation of voting power (Red Pills). This system fosters a more liquid and efficient governance market, ultimately benefiting the entire LobbyFi community.
FAQ
When do I get my pills? The pills (both the red and the blue) are distributed right after the proposal gets bought or closed.
Why am I not getting any red pills even though I am delegating governance tokens $X? If there are no proposals in the DAO you are delegating your governance tokens in / if LobbyFi does not operate in this DAO yet, you are not getting any points yet. You will start getting them when the first 0.001 ETH will be made with your voting power.
Do I get blue pills if the option that I bade for did not end up winning the auction? Yes, you will get blue pills in that case.
Do I get red pills if a proposal I am delegating voting power for did not get sold? No, no red pills will be issued in such a case.
